Keeping Up With The Resolutions - February Blog, By Chris Alexis

Positively Premier: Keeping Up with the Resolutions
It’s so easy around the holidays. You make a promise to yourself that, THIS YEAR, you’re going to lose the weight. You’re going to build up those 20 pounds of muscle. You’re determined; you’re focused. You allow yourself to binge on cookies and other treats as a “final hurrah” before the clock strikes midnight and it’s a new year.
Early January, you’re on the treadmill. At the store buying healthy food. You’re in this to WIN this. But then time goes by, life gets hectic and complicated (as usual) and you don’t have time to make it to the gym. You’ve had a long day and you’re hungry – and not for anything green and healthy in your fridge. You want a BURGER. Before long, you’ve fallen completely off the wagon!

Here are some steps to help you keep up with everything, courtesy of CNBC:
First, it’s not about working out “when you have time.” In our busy lives, we find ourselves increasingly hard-pressed to find time for extras. Our schedule rules our lives. Well, guess what? Make it part of your schedule. Make it a priority, just as important as showing up for work. Perhaps your routine is to work out on your lunch breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Or perhaps you go after work. Or maybe even before. But no matter, give your time in the gym a lot of weight in the schedule. It’s a “must do,” not a “maybe.” Premier has very convenient hours to meet a variety of schedules.
Second, make it as convenient as possible. Don’t travel super far for a gym; stay somewhere in your community. For example, Premier at Sawmill is very convenient for a lot of people in the Dublin, Ohio area.  And once you’re here, it’s a nice, clean space with a lot of amenities and plenty of parking. The easier it is for you to be at the gym, the easier it will be for you to continue making it a part of your daily routine.
Next, find a support system. Don’t do it alone. Come into the club with your best friend, wife, husband, girlfriend, neighbor, whoever. Keep each other motivated. Or, if you can’t find anyone, a trainer is a great way to find support. Just click here to learn more about personal training and how it can do wonders to keep you on track!
Finally, celebrate the small stuff! Is the scale telling you that you’re now 10 pounds lighter than before? Hurray! Noticing an increase in endurance or strength? Congrats! Small steps lead to giant leaps in progress. One foot in front of the other. As long as you keep making progress, you’ll be able to keep yourself motivated.
If you have ANY questions, just call 614-336-CLUB, and one of our friendly folks at the front desk will be happy to send you in the right direction. Don’t fall of the wagon; you can do this!
