Goodbye - December Blog, By Chris Alexis
Positively Premier: Goodbye

It’s no secret that COVID has been a devastating storm that changed the landscape in countless ways. And we’re heartbroken to become one of those casualties. It’s with great sadness we will close our doors for good on December 31, 2020. This comes after 40 years of service to our community.

But in our final hour, we want to reiterate that your health could suffer from the cessation of exercise. Please find somewhere to go to get your workouts in. Do not let fear, based off disinformation, keep you from doing so.

Research proves we were a safe place all along. The linked study looked at 2,873 gyms, sports clubs, and fitness centers over the course of three months. Evidence conclusively illustrates that fitness centers are NOT contributing to the spread of COVID-19.

Fitness actually reduces risk factors for the COVID-19. Those risk factors are obesity, heart disease, lung disease and diabetes. So even as we exit stage right with a heavy heart, do not give up on yourselves!

We also wanted to thank you, from the bottom-most depths of our hearts, for all the wonderful memories you have provided us. Premier wasn’t just a place to work out; it was also a community where many friendships were born. These relationships blossomed between members, employees, and everyone in between. We celebrated together. We pushed each other toward healthier lives. You trusted us to watch your children. We watched many of you grow up.

Check out our Facebook page to look back on years’ worth of photos. Perhaps you, your friends, or family members appear in them. Many do. Feel free to save them for the memories. We certainly will.

And thanks for reading this blog, too. We’ve enjoyed sharing it with you.

Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Goodbye.
